Speaker 0 00:04 Hi and welcome to. That makes total sense. The podcast where we talk about faith, finance and everyday life in a way that makes total sense. I'm your host Alexis BU city. On this podcast you'll hear the personal stories of friends I'll be interviewing who are doing familiar things in new and innovative ways. We'll answer questions specifically about money and our relationship with it and we'll explore faith and Bible teaching together. In all of these. It's not about changing our convictions as much as it is about messing with our methods. We'll have a lot of moments here together where we pause and say, that makes total sense. Welcome to that makes total sense. This is Alexis city and I am so excited and privileged that you have joined me today. We have a really incredible interview for you today with Jason Hauser of seeds family worship. I was first introduced to seeds, family worship when my girls who are now 10 were just toddling around.
Speaker 0 01:10 I was trying to think if they were even infants when I first heard, um, Jason and their family's music. But I was at a mom's group and I believe it was a worship pastor's wife who was talking to us about just the atmosphere in their home and how they love having worship music playing all the time. And you know, we're young moms and we're taking all the tips we can possibly get. And one of the bands that she threw out that she just loves to have playing in her home, whereas seeds, family worship. And so I just, you know, look them up, immediately bought, um, my first album way back then and I can tell you it was incredible. I was so impressed. First, I mean with the message, which I'll tell you about in a second, we'll go into more of a Jason, but also with the music, which was so beautiful and fun and family friendly.
Speaker 0 02:10 But the thing that sets seeds apart in my mind is their amazing ability to put scripture to music in a way that helps us all take it to heart and memorize it. So most of the songs that seeds, family worship does are actually verbatim word for word scripture set, two incredible music melodies that you won't forget and you're going to be singing them all day long. But when you're doing that, you're singing the word of God. And so anyway, this is probably too much right now. I can't wait for you to hear this from Jason. Um, but I want to give you something else that's super exciting before we get into this episode and that is that see's family worship has offered our listeners. Anybody who's hearing this, I'm also going to post it on the, on the website in the show notes, a discount and free shipping for anything at their shop.
Speaker 0 03:11 And so the code that you'll need when you check out, so first of all, the website is seeds family, worship.com S E E D S family worship.com. They have a shop there, like I said, incredible music and products for your family. You're going to love them so much. And the code that you'll put in there is all one word that makes total sense and that will get you 15% off of the products and free shipping. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you seeds team for doing that. I'm so excited. This is the first time that I'm, I've been able to partner in that way with one of my guests and I'm so excited about it. So see, it's family worship.com. All one word that makes total sense. And you'll get that discount of 15% off their products plus free shipping. And trust me, you're going to be going back for more because this is just so, so good.
Speaker 0 04:07 Um, so I encourage you to, I encourage you to visit and encourage you to take a listen. So I also encourage you to take a listen to this, uh, conversation with Jason. Jason is a dad. He's a father, he's a songwriter. He, um, is the, the primary voice that we hear in seats, family worship, and his walk with God is, you know, what he shared is just a testimony of what God will do through us when we surrender our lives and our talents to him and really let him take over our ministry. So I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed recording it. So here's my conversation with Jason Hauser of seeds, family worship. Hello everybody. I am Alexis B and welcome to that total sense. Today we have such a fun guest. We have Jason Hauser today. Hey Jason. I do it all exists.
Speaker 0 05:05 I'm good. Thank you so much for coming on the show. It is awesome to be here. I'm excited. Oh, I'm so excited too. And Jason sin is with seeds, family worship. And I just want to tell you for a second about my experience with seeds, family worship, and we'll get into this more and more. But you guys know we have four kids. They're ages 10 and under. And we started listening to the seeds, family worship albums when my daughters were toddlers. And so one of the things that they have, one of the products they offer is like all of these themed albums where every single song, every single track is a Bible memory verse. And so we started where mama needed to start and that was with seeds of courage. And so we have been listening to these seas, these CDs really, I mean for probably something like eight years now. Jason, how does that even, I mean, how does that even happen?
Speaker 1 06:07 That's crazy. I know what the years go by fast. You know, we always say in parenting like some days go by very slowly, but the years go by quickly.
Speaker 0 06:16 Exactly right. I remember the first time I heard another mom say that to me, we were all were in the trenches with toddlers and preschoolers and I thought that makes so much sense. You said the days are long, but the years are short and here we are. Yeah. So Jason, tell us, I mean, I want to get into where seeds started, but tell us a little bit for context about your family, like where you guys live, married, kids, all that kind of thing. So we just kind of have an idea of who we're talking to.
Speaker 1 06:45 Absolutely. So yeah, thanks so much for having me and for having seats, family worship. It's so cool to get to be here. I love to get to share about seeds. I love to get distressed about what God's done through seeds. And let me get sure about my family. So my wife's name is Heidi and uh, we've been married, this will be actually our 25th anniversary coming up, maybe 25 years. That's a big deal. So we're, we're going to celebrate. I told her when we do our 25 year anniversary, we're going to do something special, you know, as a family. And so this is a big year for us. 2020. Congratulations. That's wow. That's while, I mean, well, we have a great testimony with that. Just how God, you know, God is faithful. And you know, when you cry out to him that he, he has redeemed our marriage through some difficult seasons and work through us, you know, despite ourselves and our imperfections. And so it's cool. But then my wife is amazing. She's an amazing wife and mom. And just to be a part of the seeds ministry to, to support the way she has. It's wow.
Speaker 1 07:51 And so we have three kids and it's, it's neat now because we're getting to serve with our kids. All of our kids serve in some capacity now in the ministry. Our oldest son just turned 21 his name's Ben and he's actually a, he when he graduated from high school, went to youth with a mission and he was so, so we are too. And that's kind of our plan for our kids when they graduate high school is to go seek God, seek first his kingdom. And so he went to why wham in Montana, then he was in Thailand. And then he went into a school of biblical studies in Taiwan for nine months and just studied the word. And God's just work in his life. So he, he's now a worship leader, musician songwriter. And so he's working on some of his own music. But while he's doing that, he's working with me in the studio and we're re writing and recording the new seats album together. And so that's
Speaker 0 08:50 dream for you as a dad,
Speaker 1 08:52 you know, and not even fathom. It's, it is, it's awesome to see just the giftedness that they got put in him. And like with your kids, Alexis, like you see from when they're toddlers and as they grew up, like they've got their own story, right? They've got their own giftings, they've got their own struggles, they've got their personalities, each one. And so to see Ben's story unfold, but now that we're working together, writing songs, um, it's, it is, I, I really enjoy it, you know? Um, and that's learning the dance too as adults, right? Cause we're now we're two men working in the studio and you have to wrestle through ideas and like, he has this idea and we're both passionate about our ideas. And so that's part of it too.
Speaker 0 09:34 That's great though. I love that. I love that because it's just like this family thing. I think for those of us, even out there listening, so like my kids, my oldest kids are 10 and I'm like, I'm clueless. Right? I mean, I have no idea. I mean even even 12 feels really scary to me. Right? But like 21 even though it's going to happen in a blink, just like zero to 10 did, but 21 feels like in eternity away, it feels like light years away. But I'm reminded, and this is a really good reminder too, it's like we've got these, you know, 1820 years of something of them being in our house and then the rest of our relationship with them for the rest of our lives is exactly what you're talking about. It's doing the dance as adults, right? And so it doesn't feel that way when you're packing lunches and changing diapers. But that's the goal. That's the end game. Um, you know, is this 21, you know, and over kind of that, that relationship. And so not to, not to diminish what we're going through now as you know, people who have young kids in the house, but just recognizing that there's going to be a lot more kind of on that side. Yeah.
Speaker 1 10:47 Yeah. To that Alexism and the people that are listening is the things that you're doing now are going to matter so much in your relationship with them. Then the things that you're investing, you know, in some of what your podcast is about too, just talking about investments and finances and stewarding. But like I was w I wonder to write a blog about the best investments you can make in 2020 and investing in your relationship with the Lord, with your spouse and with your kids. But the times that you spend relationally pouring into your kids and having meals together and talking about the Lord and having a family worship time, which is just talking about God together, right? Doing that when your kids are your age, you see it in the relationship. If teenagers, cause we had definitely had challenges in the teen years, don't get me wrong, but we had a relationship where we're walking through things. Right. So you said the foundation and the teen years come and it's not like we, I don't feel like we survived the teams. I feel like we, there was a, just a new season and it was, and then now as young adults, there's another huge page turn for us and we're learning, like you said, every year comes from like, okay, this is all new and it's new. And especially for the oldest, we joked that he's our experimental child.
Speaker 0 12:01 Oh, for sure. Oh for sure. I'm an oldest. My husband's an oldest. Like we are. We totally get that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 12:06 It was the one that dropped him on his head when he's a baby. And then we did this with them and we were a little too strict on some things. And, and he, and then he, he helps us remember that sometimes without, we'd joke about it. So we always his siblings. Yeah. So, so Ben, like I say, so he's our oldest and um, our second son is named Brandon. He's 18. He's a senior at last Christian school. We live in Idaho. We're nice. The kids were all born in Nashville. We lived there for 20 years, but with my wife and I originally from twin falls, Idaho and wanted to be back close to all of our family for our kids and other grandparents. 10 years ago we moved back and we also just, um, love, we love the Northwest. We'd done outdoor adventure people and so it's just a good fit for our family to be here.
Speaker 1 12:55 And so, so Brandon is 18, he's a senior, so he's getting ready to launch and he'll do like Ben dead to go to youth with the mission in Montana. He's a young musician. And then Abby is our daughter. She's 15, and she's a redhead and she's a cheerleader and she's, uh, she sings on all the seats out and she has for years. She's got a beautiful voice. And so she, whenever you hear that, the group of kids and all the seeds, albums, um, she's like just one of the strong great voices in there. So it's fun with each one. And then we went this summer, this past summer we did a trust Jesus tour. And so at my wife and Abby joined us just for a week, but, but the rest of us went out for six weeks. The boys and then cousins, my niece and nephews, we all went out and went 6,300 miles. One place that we had, I mentioned, and we were down to Texas. And then, then we went back up through, you know, Minnesota and then over, you know, back up to Montana's where we finished. So we, we had an Epic journey, but we did all as a family in it as an extended family. And that was amazing.
Speaker 0 14:06 That is amazing. And you were in Texas over the summer, which is also amazing. I'm sorry for you from,
Speaker 1 14:12 yeah, so, so we, we left the Northwest where the summers are so nice and moods and we've been down to Texas in a 15 passenger van.
Speaker 0 14:21 Oh yeah, no, and it wouldn't be like, I haven't been to Idaho, but my husband is from the Denver area and so he is, he's actually, I'm a geologist and so he travels around to you. Montana's one of his favorite places and Utah and kind of in, you know, in those areas with the mountains and everything that you're talking about. And so his motto is a bad day in the field is better than a good day in the office. So he, he loves that. I can relate to that with him. He's the adventurer. He's the outdoor you person. And so, Oh there, there he is right there. You did. The dog pushed the door open and so he's got to come shut up for us, so appreciate that. My producer Seth, you know, with a guitar on Wilson. Um, but that's, I mean, I don't know, maybe that's a good place to start. So it's like this seeds, family worship is here and I'm, you know, says just peeked in and he's got his guitar, like strapped to him because musicians, I don't know, I don't think this is unique to my house
Speaker 0 15:24 guys. Sometimes walk around with guitars on and, or have a keyboard player is just kind of constantly going. And um, but I'm like, what, so I'm assuming this came from this place that was in your heart, what you were already doing. This may be <inaudible> and I'm, I dunno. I mean, I, my story that I made up in my head is, is it's not like, Oh well let's, let's found a ministry. Yeah. What do you think you want to do? Um, I don't know. Let's just start writing music to Bible stuff. Like it came from something that God had already birthed in you.
Speaker 1 15:59 Yes.
Speaker 0 16:01 Right. I mean this was an overflow of something. So can you tell us where that started for you personally and then kind of maybe the birth story of seeds?
Speaker 1 16:11 Well, absolutely. Yeah. I mean it probably works best as to rewind the tape back to me being a senior in high school. Yeah, let's do it. Right. A hoe and big dreams of music. And I thought, okay, I want to pursue music, music city USA makes a lot of sense. Go to music city. And so I went to college at Belmont university and I had a friend that I grew up with whose dad was a Southern gospel record producer, then Larry Goss that lived in Nashville at the time. And who helped me get settled and let me spend time with him in the studio. And then I went to college at Belmont and got to study music and music business. So that was my, you know, kind of launching. I knew out that music was in my heart. I was a Christian, I became a Christian, but at church camp.
Speaker 1 16:58 But then throughout my journey, music became an idol in the, and then by the time I got done with college, you know, music was, became more important than God to me. And so I was just going to get, I was in the Nashville guy, I joke about this, you know, but it's like we're going to make this happen. We can make it. And I was just like the hype man of, I work with in coaching music industry and I work with songwriters and with record producers as basically a salesman of songs. And I still wrote my own music, but I really got into the business side of things after school. But I was presuming that it's so hard. And then I got married, we started having a family, but I <inaudible> I saw the drift and challenges in marriage and it wasn't the kind of dad I want it to be cause I was working so much and pursuing this and it never ends right when you're pursuing music and there's nothing to go to at night. There's people and things and, and I got caught up in it, but it was at the of my family. And so there was a moment, you know, and I, I tell this in my testimony, but it said, you know, my life became like a country song and you allow, you don't want your life to become a country song. Let me tell ya,
Speaker 0 18:01 you don't want your life to become a country song because I mean, yes, we live in Texas now. I grew up in Oklahoma actually. And this is funny, we joke about this and, and, and we didn't talk about this before before we started recording, but this is funny. So the country music side of Nashville says, my husband and I always joke that hour, we despise country music so much. Each of us independently. And I'm people don't write your hate mail. I know we live in Houston, but it's like, we feel like that's like a foundation. It's like a pillar in our marriage. Like if one of us decided, you know what, I'm just going to start line dancing. Like I don't know what would happen, like counseling. It would have to be, it would be some serious stuff because we got into this saying we both hate this.
Speaker 1 18:49 Oh on the phone, mr <inaudible> in the other room. I heard that.
Speaker 0 18:55 But it's like, but that's part of it because your life became a country song and it's like, it's, a lot of them are depressing cause you lose what? You lose everything, you lose everything. Even the dog has gone in a country song. So tell us the real life country songs.
Speaker 1 19:11 So that's where literally, you know, I ended up pulling over to the side of the road and I was crying and I had just gotten in a fight with my wife and I just left the house and I, and I told her, I said, I don't know what we're going to do, but I can't do this anymore. You know, and I just left the house. And, and you know, most people who have been married long enough, you've had some of those situations where you've just, you know, things really come to a head in a moment. But it was such a blessing because when I'm sitting on the side of the road and I said, Lord, <inaudible> my great plan for life didn't work out. So I don't care if I do music anymore. I don't care. I just want, I know I need you. I want to follow you.
Speaker 1 19:54 Please save my marriage and saved my family. We had our two boys at the time, they were just little dudes, you know, and I come from a divorced family and so I never wanted that, you know, for our kids. And, and so God just God heard my prayer. I mean that's the thing. I always love to get to encourage couples and go through a difficult season through storms and for so many testimonies if you can press through and just lean into God when you're in those most difficult moments and get help, you know, from your church, from there's couples that came alongside of us in our pasture and, and I came home at night and I just, the Lord spoke to me and I said, we're going to make it through this and I'm here. And God turned our lives around. That part of it was music was an idol in my life. And at that moment when I gave it up and I said, okay Lord, I want what you want. And God had these plans for me. Cause you can't really want to be like a family, you know, worship leader, writing music, scripture. I mean it's not even like what I do isn't even really a thing.
Speaker 1 20:58 You can't even know to aspire to it. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 0 21:02 That's a good point though. I think that's a good point. And I've, I feel like that's kind of the vein I want to go. In some ways it's like you're doing something that you can't even know to aspire to because it's something new. Cause God did something new in you and with you and through you. And it's like how crazy is that when you surrender yourself and your will? And, and I was, I was reading today, sometimes I read through this, uh, I think it's the living Bible. It's kind of like a paraphrase. And there's a, there's a, one of the times when Jesus is talking and he's basically saying that the passage that we're familiar with, if any, if you ask anything in my name right, um, I will give it to you. And in this particular version, it says something like, if you ask anything over my signature, right, as if he's already signed this document and you just have to put your stuff on top.
Speaker 0 21:53 But of course, some people look at that and think it's some sort of blank check, which it's not. But when you're saying, God heard me, I'm like, of course he heard you. He gave you the desires of your heart, which were the desires of his heart for you, which was his signature on the bottom of that document was I want Jason and Heidi's marriage too, to thrive. I want them to flourish as a family. I had already, you know, God's saying, I had already written my signature on it. Jesus signature had already signed that you filled in the top in that moment and said, please, you know, please do this. And yes, yes.
Speaker 1 22:29 What needed to happen was to put that under God's authority. Right? Cause he's signed, he's signing it, but it's like this is the desires. I've, you know, your heart under his authority he had, he knows better than us, right? Yes. And so in that moment when he turned my life around, turned my truck around, got me back home to my family, then the Lord told me in my life verse is, you know, um, and this isn't going to be on our brand new seeds app on this song. You know, therefore, do not be anxious saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what should we wear for the pagans run after all these things. And your heavenly father knows that you need them, but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
Speaker 1 23:16 And so the Lord pointed out to me, the pagan, like the world, like the world's running after all these things, you are going to make it happen in Nashville and you're chasing these things. He's like, that's you. And so he said, but instead of worrying about those things and running up to those things, seek me first and I'm going to bring everything you need to you. And so that promise, that's where steeds began because then as I began to have this turnaround and I working with like a kid named Matthew West who I met and we started writing kid, just a kid, he was a kid back then, you know, cause this is 15 plus years ago. And we, um, we started writing together and we ended up writing. That's his first one that came. I was a number one song that we wrote and I produced his album.
Speaker 1 24:05 And then at the same time I was serving in my church and, uh, writing, I was asked to write music to our vacation Bible school. And those songs were the beginning. Those are on the seeds of courage album that you talked about earlier. That was the Genesis. And the Lord's just bringing this, just opening these doors because everything's fender to him. And now music wasn't an idol to me anymore, you know? And so God just opened the doors. And then, but I will say this because sometimes I've discouraged that. What if I would have, you know, wouldn't have gone off track so far and I wouldn't have done all these things. I wouldn't have been through this. But God used those things. Even my season and the country music industry, the producing and the people I get to be around, I look back now and go, I learned so many things.
Speaker 1 24:51 The God, even in the, in his goodness and mercy, like used all that training still, once I sent it to him, it's like I was able to, I had all these relationships and to write and produce them. Spending that time in country music with some of the best songwriters in the world to learn how to craft songs. So crafting scripture, right is, is actually a pretty tricky thing to be able to write the songs like we do cause we try to make them, I feel like worship songs and not, you know, clunky. We try to make them feel like you just sing along, but you're singing God's word. But it's word for word. And so
Speaker 0 25:26 it's word for word. And I think I didn't mention that before, I don't think, but that's, that's really what I want people to understand, you know, as far as the seeds is, is this is word for word scripture. And you're exactly right. I had all of these questions in my head like, Oh my goodness, it doesn't even rhyme. You know? I'm like, I'm like, sure, maybe you could go back to the Hebrew poetry and the Psalms that, no, no, no, this is like an English and it doesn't rhyme. And how do you put the syllables together? You know, there's all of these things, but what you're saying is, is the Joseph's story, right? It's like, it's like no matter what. Right. And, and you might even say you were doing it for these, for these things that were not meant for your good necessarily, but God took it and made it for your good because he doesn't waste anything. And all of these people who are benefiting now from your, even from your season, where were you, were there, just like you said, like the relationships, the, the skills that you learned, the training that you had. It's, it's just incredible. And I want to pause for a minute and say these songs are anything but clunky. Um, we, we chatted, Jason and I chatted just a bit before we started recording. And, um, my husband is, he's kind of picky
Speaker 1 26:42 how music can
Speaker 0 26:43 I, I'm like trying to think of a really kind way to say he's kind of picky, um, about <inaudible>
Speaker 1 26:51 music, music snob or anything,
Speaker 0 26:53 right? Maybe. Okay. But he's kind of picky. Um, but I think I would say, because I think musicians have a style, right? They have a style or multiple styles. They probably like to listen to. Um, he's kind of like still listen to some of the stuff that's not necessarily radio play. Um, you know, I was kind of some of his favorites and that kind of thing. He's kind of that guy. Um, but when we, I got this first album, I was actually kind of like, okay, I'm just going to put this on in the car and kind of see what he says. But he loved it. I mean, we really, we love it as a family. And what I would say is I feel like this because we have done other, Mmm. I don't know, we have done other kinds of Bible E music, um, things like that.
Speaker 0 27:45 Uh, some of them are kind of like to nursery rhyme themes or you know, things like that. And there's a lot of really good kid music out there. Um, but I think all the moms with the minivans can raise their hand and say sometimes with the kid music you ask them to put headphones on and it's really great and they can listen to it all day long and it's good for their hearts. But sometimes with the kid music, the mom has to turn the channel. But this I feel like is family. Yes. If that's a genre, like there's, you know, kid movies, family movies, like this is, there's kid music and there's family music. And this has been enjoyable for us as a family of six, from when the girls were little, my oldest room, when they were little to now, even today, I was telling my, um, my son, Beau, as he looked at my calendar and he said, mom, you have a podcast interview today. And I said, Oh yes, I actually do. And I said, do you know who I'm interviewing? And I'm, and I said, do you remember? And I just saying the very beginning of call to me, cause that's the first track on the courage album. And he said, Oh. And he said, Oh, are you interviewing the person who wrote those songs? And I said, yes, I am actually. Isn't that so cool? And so even just, you know, the tune of that, he, it was instant recognition.
Speaker 1 29:07 I'm so glad to hear that because that's where our desire is. Even with having family in our name seats, family worship, and you know, not unlike, you'd think about like family media, but Disney tries to make movies or Pixar for families, um, then the parents will go and not get bored. Yeah. And so think about that as we're making the music. You know, we, we want it to be fun and energetic, but it's also worship. And we, we tried to get the context of the scripture, but it's made for parents and kids to listen to together. And some of the parents will even catch some things I in movies that maybe the kids were like, Oh, this is an eighties song, or let's buy this. You can kind of hear some of our fun influences. And when parents come to our events, they'll share stories with us about certain songs and, and we'll joke about things, you know.
Speaker 1 29:54 But I, there's definitely, um, we're being intentional about connecting with parents. And I do love hearing the testimonies from parents saying, my kid's got the car. I continue to listen to seeds all the time because I'm learning God's word so much for myself. You know, and someone 19 is one of our songs, but it says, you know, I've stored up your word on my heart that I might not sin against you. So for, not only for the kids or for the parents and for the family together to store up God's word because God's word gives us power. And even as we're doing discipleship and discipline with our kids to say, Hey, God's word says, let's don't let unwholesome words or the bad words come out of our mouth, but use words that build each other up. So it's not just us saying, Hey, quit saying that to your brother's sister. It's saying, Hey, God's word tells us, Hey, our word should be building each other up. And then when the song, right, yeah, solely sing. And so it helps in those moments where God's word is also living in active. Right. So it's in the moment and it empowers us and it unifies us and it teaches us about God, you know? So it's so awesome to hear you say that, Alexis, that you feel like even your husband who is picky, picky, I don't know. I'm not saying that
Speaker 0 31:13 <inaudible>
Speaker 1 31:16 these musicians are tough. So I know that the fact that he connects with seeds and that means a lot to me. So yeah.
Speaker 0 31:23 Oh, I figured, I figured without calling you out as a musician, I figured you could relate is all I'm going to say. Cause you probably know somebody, it's probably not you, but you probably know someone else who is also picky. And when it comes to stuff like that, so because you've been around musicians, so I figured that's what it was. But I feel like we can get like kind of go back to your story a little bit, but I was, I should have looked up the track, but now I can't even think of the verse. But it is some trust in chariots, some trust in horses. Right? But as for me, I'll trust in the name of the word God. Right. And, and you go into, I think it's you and the track, you go into this like okay, this language is kind of hard to understand maybe. Right? And the song and you say, but what do people trust in these days? And I really feel like, and I haven't even listened to the track today, but this is just kind of from memory, but it's like you talk about some people trust in fame, right? Right. Some people. So I thought, Oh, and now I'm listening to you. I'm like, this is a part of your story, right? Yeah. So can you share that and then kind of continue with, with where you were going? Because I think that that's,
Speaker 0 32:35 I want to, I want to hear what you have to say and then maybe kind of maybe kind of off that.
Speaker 1 32:40 Yeah. So in that song, so yeah. Do we take, you know, some trust in money? So what's this? This some trust in money, some trusted money and some in fame. Ooh, ah, yes. But then you know, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Yeah, definitely. When you're, when you're chasing after those things. You know, for me, my season that I spent in the country music industry, like I went to college with Brad Paisley, so I got to know him kind of as he was getting started. And he's a great guy and a great friend. And then I got, I went to school with them and then I got to work with him at a music publishing company and some other people. But I was around all of that. And then I started music publishing company, um, and work with a lot of just hanging with artists.
Speaker 1 33:25 And like I say, people would say, Oh, you <inaudible> made it or you're quote unquote successful, you know? But, but then when you see, the thing is that home, when your, when your real life, the things that really matter are falling apart, you're not successful. You know? And what, so what is success, you know, and what does and what has God made you to do? The energy that God put me in the things I think that made me good at my job at that time. Just my energy and my joy and my life and just making people believe. And God's given me the gift of encouragements, you know? And of course artists need that. Like, you can do this and we're going to climb this and we're going to do this together. So God used all those things. Um, but then like I say, I got caught up in it and then becomes the fame of trying to achieve this goal and kind of this mountain, but it was the wrong mountain.
Speaker 0 34:16 Right. Right. And I think that, Oh, cause I feel like so much now really, I don't know if it's any different in the church than it is in the world, but fame equals success in the minds of so many. Right. And to have to, to be able to hear someone who experienced it say there, they're not the same thing. Like there's not an equal sign there. You can be famous and completely unsuccessful. Yeah. Or you can be thoroughly successful, especially in the minds of the lore and the mind of the Lord and be, and, and no one knows your name. Yeah. There's no fame involved in that at all.
Speaker 1 35:06 And, and ultimately we want, you know, to show how great God is. Right. But I didn't want him to be famous. Yeah. He, you know, our, our boys just went to passion 2020. And the passion, you know, the theme is, you know, your name and your renown. Let those be the desire of my soul. I'm paraphrasing, but, but that scripture, you know, and, and so I've really been thinking a lot about that, you know, um, but really making it about Lord and then whatever, you know, cause like you're doing a podcast, I'm here speaking, there's, we have a voice, you know, let's assume we're getting ready for this interview. I was just praying and I was like, Lord, you've given me a voice and sometimes it's singing some of that to speaking, but I want my voice to point people to you. Do you know what I mean? And so, cause sometimes God does want people to be in the front. He has us in different places and even in different seasons. And so I try to be like
Speaker 1 36:03 <inaudible>, you know, wherever you want me to be. I've been in some different seats in my journey, you know. Um, now I'm, it's interesting in this season, now I'm in front of people more, you know, in their tour and going out and be in the, cause I kind of said, why don't we kind of left the artists quote unquote thing behind, you know, but then I caught a tour with my kids and I'm like, who gets to do that? Is to go out and be in a band and have your, you know, we grew up band.
Speaker 0 36:31 Right. Which is crazy. Which is, which is so crazy. And, and you know, I, I say that my, uh, my husband's a musician in the family and really he is, but we both, um, are like, I'm semi musical, right? And so I can do some stuff and then now my son is wanting to play piano and you know, kind of get into some of that stuff and it's super cool. But I feel like that's, you know, we talked a bit about stewardship and, and you and I talked a bit before, um, before we recorded about it, about, um, you know, money being a real physical way to, to experience stewardship. But stewardship is so much bigger than that. And as a musician growing, you know, living with one, and one of the things that I've always, it's always struck me is we have a voice.
Speaker 0 37:13 And so I'm like these incredible, incredible musicians, like secular musicians, right? That I'm like, God gave you this incredible voice or talent or guitar playing or whatever it is. Really. They're designed just like we are to worship God whether they know it or not or whether they know him or not. And, and just like kind of having these fantasies play in my head of, Oh my goodness, if that person ever got saved, wow. Like this is, you know, but just like, and even, but even for them to have the realization of God created my voice so I could worship him. Um, and I guess I'm like kind of outdated or whatever now because I'm like, we're, we have things like that happening with Kanye and you know, stuff like that where it's like, this is, this is God is bringing everyone to himself and we're getting to see some of these, um, other people who have used their talents for so long, um, for fame and for, you know, these other purposes coming back now to worship the Lord, which is insane. It's just so cool. I can't even, I can't even handle it. Totally agree.
Speaker 1 38:26 I, I'm, I really listened to Kanye album as I work out and I just, I do enjoy this. One of the things that he's saying,
Speaker 0 38:32 I can't tell you I'm a, I am like a big, I'm a big Kanye fan. I'm loving this current album because of like you said, like it's, it's what he's saying. It's the message, everything behind it, the artistry. I am really enjoying and see that. But, but you came kind of out of that industry as well, where you were, I'm, I mean, I'm guessing you were working with secular artists. I mean, you said you were, but Ian Christian artists.
Speaker 1 38:59 Yeah. And part of the condition is a little bit of both. And, and, and God was working on my story cause I, you know, you look back and in salvation it's like, okay, before you have that moment where you surrender everything, are you a Christian before that or you know, people can, you can put a lot of theology. But to me, God had his hand on my life and God's so merciful and he was always working. And people knew, even when I look at my low points that I was a Christian and people, you know what I mean, in every season of my life. Um, that, that was just part of my story, you know, and so, and so I do think also got ahead of me there to be a light with people and people also share testimonies about back then were like, you really had an impact on my life. I'm like, I did. Yeah.
Speaker 0 39:44 But no, that's, it's, but that's so good. I w I want to go back real quick. Um, before we kind of, you know, reign this in and talk a little bit more about seeds, but I want to go back really quick to <inaudible> this phrase that you will, you will not believe this is actually the second time today, so completely unrelated times, but the second time today when this phrase of putting this under the authority of God, can you just like unpack that a little bit, define that a little bit, share even emotionally, maybe or intellectually what that looked like for you when, when you said, I'm just, you know, I've got all of these, all of these dreams, all of this, you know, fill in the blank, whatever it is. Yes, God has this, but I'm going to put this under the, I'm going to be very intentional about putting this under his authority. What did that look like for you?
Speaker 1 40:36 Yeah. Well, you know, it's interesting because to me, I'm not such a great question. It is. It is such a big part of my story and as I've thought about it over the years is having,
Speaker 0 40:48 okay,
Speaker 1 40:49 everything is God. It's like we talked about the stewardship, we steward our lives, we steward our talents, but it's all ultimately the Lords and it's all been given to us. It's not like I have musical talent because I've worked so hard, like God put that in me and we develop the gifts that we're given, but it's still, it's from God and it's a stewardship, you know? And so what I think what happens is, and things become idols is they're like, no, this is mine. You know? And so it's not in regard to throw it into a music in my life. Like I said, it was a blessing, a gift to me. And it was something I enjoyed and that's great. Like there's nothing wrong with like, I love music so much. I love playing music and my enthusiasm for music. It's all great, you know? But then when it becomes the where it's like, I want that more, you know, I want that more than my relationship with God. You start making choices, you know, this choice because of music or whatever, your idol is, isn't going to move you away from God, but it's going to move you closer to what you're wanting.
Speaker 0 41:48 But let me ask you this real quick. Would you have consciously said that though back then? Like if someone, if, if, if a dear friend of yours or a pastor or a competent came in and kind of, you know, someone who you trusted was able to ask you, you let them in your space and they were able to ask you, do you want this more, then you want God, I mean, were you in a place, I mean, you know what I'm saying? Before that breaking point though, would you have been like, yeah, for sure. Or would have been like, no, not really. And there's kind of this tug of war or kind of this a little bit of under, of like, you, you really know in your heart that it's true, but maybe you wouldn't have said it. I'm just, I'm just curious.
Speaker 1 42:31 Yeah, I think it's a wrestling, you know, I think if somebody's, it's like, well yeah, I wrestled with that. But a lot of times, you know, we do have self deception that we, that we need other people speaking into our lives. That's a whole other conversation. But we all have things that people that we don't see that are very obvious to others. And so I do think it's great that people speaking into your life, you know? But I would probably say, Oh, I wrestled with that.
Speaker 0 42:56 Right. Okay. So there was a recognition of you saying, I don't, I don't know if this is really God's plan. You were kind of making calls.
Speaker 1 43:06 Yeah. And, and, and there's still, with all of our lives, there's gray areas too. You know, I believe that the, I hear the Lord impresses things on my heart and, but this, the Lord spoke this to me, but I'm also very careful to try to say, you know, it's not some super thing. Like it's just got impresses things upon me, but there's still not total clarity. You know what I mean? Right. It's a faith journey where God leads us. And there's different seasons in that as well that you just go, okay Laura, I'm going to trust the last thing that I believe where you led me, but I don't know, you know, but, but back to the authority thing, I think it's like whatever it is a relationship. Cause you can take music and put it, you're falling in love with someone, you fall in love for someone you know have that under God's authority.
Speaker 1 43:55 Lord, I trust you. You know, if the, if the person's not a believer and you are a believer at the Bible says don't be unequally yoked. Right? So if that's under God's authority, I'm not saying you go run and break up with that person, but you go do you have to go address that and say this is what God's word said and I believe I want to be under God's authority. So this relationship then, do you know what I'm saying? It becomes under that 30 of God. Like I'm going to trust, I'm going to put this at risk cause I trust you. I trust you God. And I want what you want. And even if this thing, this dream, this relationship, this putX variable here in your, in each person's life, um, when that's under God's authority, you're going to say, Lord, I want this, but I trust you and I want your will to be done.
Speaker 0 44:45 Right. Right. So what I hear you saying is so good that it's just like, it's when it's part of your relationship with him, right? Where you say to him, you say to him, I'm putting this, I'm putting this here. I want you to be in charge of this. I'm trusting you with this. Um, you know, I had a, I've had some friends in my lives talking about people speaking to you. I have had some friends in my life where I didn't know if they knew that they could, that they could speak to me. Um, you know, speak, speak life into me, speak candidly to me in my business, if you will. And so I have had some of those relationships where I have specifically said, I want you to know, if you see something in me, I want you to tell me like I, you have my permission to be in my business.
Speaker 0 45:36 Right? Like there's some where I could kind of feel like, okay, you're, you know, and so I feel like in a way it's like we're, we're, we're kind of telling God like, like this is yours. Like you not wait, God's a gentlemen. So I think he does, you know, there is, there is some of that relational kind of permission right, of saying like, I am, I am telling you, God, I want you to be in charge of this. I want you to take a hold of this. And for that to be an intentional decision on our part that we verbalize to him, yes. In our relationship. Right? Um,
Speaker 1 46:15 and there's no verse that Alexis is, it comes to mind. And again, this is a seed song. I know I can just say all these scriptures cause I know the music behind them. You know, so I'm not trying to impress people with my spirit cheating. That's great. But I love it. This, and this is the verse so many Christians know, but when you see this played out like this, what we're talking about right here, Proverbs three, five and six, trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways. Acknowledge him and he will make straight your path, right? So it's like, okay God, I trust you with this. I'm not going to try to figure, we all want to figure this out on our own. We want to get on Google, we want to talk to our friends.
Speaker 1 46:55 And it's like I'm going to lean on my, I don't have to figure this all out. I need to look to you in all my ways in this process because it is a process. It's not a moment like I'm going to acknowledge you. I'm going to see the Lord. What are you doing here? Where are you leading me? And again, it's usually, it's, it's steps in these kinds of does not one thing. It's like, well, I tried this and I'll go for things, you know, but sometimes God closes the door. Sometimes he opens the door and I'm like, okay, that's a yes and a no, but I'm moving forward in faith, you know, but know your ways, acknowledge him and he will make straight your path. He will, he would define that journey for you. He will lead you where he wants you to go because that's what ultimately what you want. Those, you know, those of us that are believers, we know what God wants us to be. What's for our ultimate
Speaker 0 47:41 best.
Speaker 1 47:42 And even sometimes in the, in the struggles that we're having now, it's like our, our ultimate home is in heaven, right? We're citizens of heaven. And so this journey, even though we go through severity, seasons, God's using all of that for ultimate good.
Speaker 0 47:57 No, I love it. I love it so much. As you were talking, I had like all of a sudden I was in my Google maps, right? Like I was like in all your, I'm like, that's so good. It's a process. It's steps, it's all of these things. It's rerouting rerouting, you know, like we were coming back, um, from some place either or no, we were headed to church actually. And so we're in a, we're in a different building and uh, I had only been there a few times and I missed my first turn. Like my first, the first place I was supposed to turn, I missed it. I've got like a 20 minute drive and one of my kids was like, mom, why do you have the map out? I'm like, because I missed my first turn and I don't know and I can't go around and I don't know how to get back. And so I had to use that and I'm, I'm seeing the Google, you know, in my head of, even when you miss the turn, like rerouting, you know, like if we're acknowledging him in all of our ways, you're not going to abandon us and say, well, I showed you the spy, can't you get there? And no, it's like no turn left turn right turn left turn right. You know, but we have to be in tune to him and like you said in the process, continually acknowledging that he knows the way for us.
Speaker 1 49:05 Well, in staying connected, like in the Google map analogy, if a, you know, staying connected to the source. Right, right. Cause it's still, you can be on like, okay here sometimes they'll be like, well Hey, here's what the Lord's led me to do. Okay. God wants going to be a music eyes go when I take off. Right. I'm a vision guy so I see it. So I did go run through that and God's like, well I didn't mean that right now I gotta learn like, Whoa big fella. You know what I mean? So try to be a little more just again does okay. Prestige in the process and taking the next to look to the Lord and go to, to confirm the same connection.
Speaker 0 49:45 Yes. No, it's so good. It's so good. I feel like we could talk about that all day, but I do want for you to share with us as we wrap up, like what new projects, what you've already mentioned, you guys are, like you said, new album. I feel like you've seen new album once or twice. So what is seeds family worship working on right now that we can be looking out for coming up?
Speaker 1 50:09 Yes. So yeah, I'm very excited about our new album that will be coming up March. Oh that's quick. Yes. And so we're just finishing and we were sending everything off literally to the printers and get everything in the course. Now we have our music, we do CDs, we do DVDs, we video streaming. We're on right now media. We're on Spotify and Apple music and Amazon music and we're just everywhere. I mean you can get God's word in your home if you have a Alexa, you can say, Alexa, play seats, family worship. I love it. I love it. People from around the world, we've been doing more with streaming. You know, when streaming first came out and it's like we're selling CDs and that's how our ministry has been supported primarily also with some donations, but primarily just we sell our resources. And so it's created some challenges for us.
Speaker 1 50:57 But now streaming has gotten so big and we're seeing the reach of how God's worth getting. I mean, our mission is to get God's word into as many homes as possible around the world through music and media. And so we're seeing now some of the top deck of the top 10 cities on Spotify. One of them was Amsterdam and one of them in Brazil, I'm not sure like what, see if it was <inaudible> or where it was. But anyway, we're kind of going, wow, the reach has expanded, obviously Dallas and Houston and California, you know, there's other cities, but we're seeing like the reach. And so, um, so we're, it's, we're excited with our new album is called, I believe. And that the theme song is, you know, John three 36, you know, whoever believes in the son has eternal life. You know, it's like that's, we have eternal life through Jesus.
Speaker 1 51:49 And so the whole album is just testimonies of believing what does it mean to believe and the joy we have in Christ in the world alive in Christ. And so that's going on in margin. So we always have our R audio music or CDs or streaming. And then we have our DVDs, our videos, and we have my niece who is worship girl, she does hand motions and so worship. And so for churches, you know, we'd love for your church, people's churches to use our songs in worship, cause God's word in kids' worship. You know, we want to get God's word in the kids' hearts. And so we love getting videos from churches that we get all the time of kids doing hand motions with Kylie. And then we have parents that homeschool or with their kids at home on the weekend or families and they're doing the hand motions or seeing God's words.
Speaker 1 52:38 They're worshiping at home. And so, um, so that's what we want to see is we want to see this album and all of our albums we've actually made, this is our 14th album. Wow. Three. This will be our 16th year as a ministry. Incredible. There li 200 songs of word for word scripture that your family can learn and we're doing a uh, a blog. If you want to, people want to go to our website, seats, family, worship.com we're doing a challenge to people. There'll be a special prize at the end, but 20 versus in 2020. I mean that's a great maybe for a family like, Hey, you know, we don't really do any kind of family devotions and so many families don't do that because of our busy lives, but we want to make it so easy so you can just listen to this music as you're driving around together in the car.
Speaker 1 53:22 Maybe one night a week after dinner, you just read short devotion. That's five minutes and talk about that versus a family and that <inaudible> is your family into family worship or family devotions talking about spiritual things together. Cause that's a heart of our ministry too, is to help families connect spiritually. And music is such a great entry point for that. Oh it really is. It really is. I love that. All of that. And then we have w with our albums and our videos also. Uh, our store seeds family, worship.com has become like pretty much a Christian bookstore that we really try to find the best of devotional materials, Bibles, things for kids and for parents to engage together. And we go through all of them. My brother and his wife live in Whitefish, Montana, Josh and Linda. And so they, they do all the shipping from, from there.
Speaker 1 54:15 And they take care of the website. And my brother has just got such a heart for ministry and he goes back to being a why whammer Oh nice. You guys are, why me and family? But, but he's also been in the corporate world as incredible businessman, but God called him, you know, over five years ago under the seats ministry. And he's <inaudible> help it expand and use his gifts that he's put together to some incredible resources for families. And so we really want to be a hub where people can come and say, okay, we want to help our family move closer to Jesus and say, right, go to seeds. We want to work together as a family, go to seeds, go to awesome. And so we, we've seen, um, got up on those doors. So that's what I would encourage everybody to this listening. We hope seeds can become a part of your life to get God's word in the hearts of your kids and in your heart.
Speaker 1 55:06 Um, cause God's word is living in actives and it's for our hearts and it, it's like as a musician, I'll kind of finish with this thought, ms pictures since we've been talking about music and with your husband being a musician and, but, and you as well. It's like we tuned just like every time when I'm in the recording studio, every time we play an instrument and all my years in Nashville working with, like I say, some of the best musicians that have played on so many recordings, but what they do right before you record is they tune. Yes. They always tune their instrument. You take a break and they're tuning their tuning, their bass, electric guitar, the acoustic guitar. And that's like, and I've always watched that and it's like, wow. It's, you know, and every time we'd pay $150 to tune the piano before every session, perfectly in tune.
Speaker 1 55:50 Like that's a lot of money you'd spend. But now we want, because we want everybody to be in tune with each other and tuned to the same thing. Well, and so what we need to do in our lives is we need to tune ourselves to God and his word. And so God's word is truth. And so we take that time to tune ourselves. And just like for me today, I was driving to where I come up to the mountains to write music once a week. And, and I listened to the word, you know, with my view version app, but it's just, I'm tuning and I'd try and have my coffee in the morning, a coffee guy. Yes. I try to just drink my cup of coffee and start with just some word, you know? And sometimes it looks a little different, but I was just, that's the tuning, you know?
Speaker 1 56:35 And so we went seeds. If when you have seeds in your home, it's going to have to in your family to God and tune your family to God's word. And that's, that's the desire of our heart is seeds, is we want to help tune families to God in his word and we want to help the next generation. My last thing to say is their parents and grandparents is, there's nothing more important for us, but the gift we've been given to our kids, for our kids to walk with the Lord. Amen. And one of the things like we're, we're fans of sports are our son won state championship with his football team, but his relationship with God is more important than football. We've said no to some sports over the years with our kids and we've had tears, you know, and then, um, music, other extracurricular activities, even school, even college.
Speaker 1 57:21 And, uh, and just as this may challenge some of you, but to go right out of high school into college may not be the best thing for your child's heart with the Lord, you know, so make those decisions. How is this going to impact my child's relationship with the Lord to help them launch from home? So for us, why wham is our default because we wanted them to seek God and then we let guide guide the process after that and there's a trust there instead of the authority. It kind of goes back to that whole thing, but it can look different things. It's not like your kids shouldn't do this or you should do this, your kid shouldn't do this. It's not about that. It's about what is most important. And there's nothing more important. At the end of the day, if you believe in Jesus, if you're a Christian and you believe in eternal life and there's nothing more important, then your kids have an relationship with Jesus and the most, um, impactful person in your kid's life.
Speaker 1 58:18 In doing that is going to be the parents. And that's God's design. And so if then this isn't putting a big heavy weight on parents, it's just saying filter your decisions. Just think in terms. That's the most important thing. And so those are the filters. Then my wife and I, we've messed up so many things. We've done so many things wrong as parents. But we've, we, we have known the goal is we want our kids to be walking with the Lord. And that's what success looks like. They're going to have their own story. Our kids have all had their own unique struggles. We're still in it, right? But, but we've seen the fruit of some of the prayers we've prayed and the things times when we pushed really hard to invest in that church camp and maybe we couldn't afford or we trust and gotta provide or, but we just did things that Spirit's invested in our kids.
Speaker 1 59:10 Those are investments, you know? And then later you see the fruit, like our kids encountered that for themself. What did we do as parents? We put him in the position to get to know God. You know, so, so that's just my word of encouragement that we all have. Um, so many struggles and challenges and we live in probably the busiest tiny ever in the history of the world. But what matters hasn't changed, right? What matters most hasn't changed. And so we might have more clutter to clear both, but just to encourage parents, it's like, no, the goal, you know, of this is most important. And then let that be a filter for the decisions that you make. Right? Because that it will change some of your decision making.
Speaker 0 59:57 Good. It's so good. And if you know, and I think that, you know, when we can start, like you said, just tuning and, and trying as much as we can to teach our kids to tune themselves too, right? Then it becomes, you know, it becomes a team effort, a family effort, and we're all on the same page and we can encourage each other and Edify each other and how, you know, how, what is this long, what does this end game look like? How are, you know, how are we encouraging each other to improve our relationship with Jesus? You know, through all of this. Um, because that's some of the things with some of this, some of this music is don't think that, you know, maybe I'm going to say for me, maybe I've been called out as a mom. <inaudible> don't be anxious about anything. Right? Like, right. You know, but it's true. It's like I want that to be so embedded in them as people and in their hearts, right. That when mom is acting like a worrywart, then my kids can say,
Speaker 1 01:07 well, yes, and I've had so many testimonies for that specific verse and song is the mom has said, and sometimes in a really dramatic situation that were kids who've said, bomb, the Bible says, don't be anxious of acting thing. Let's pray. And then the parents and how, I mean, so many amazing testimonies like that from versus how the kids are speaking the truth to their parents and vice versa. It's, they're like, wow. It really, people want to share with me how God's impacted their family and their kids or according to verses to their parents and helping them.
Speaker 0 01:44 Absolutely. And it's like you said, it's the tuning, you know, I've got my, you can't see it right here, but my base is in front of me. And so, you know, I would ride, but when I'm playing, I don't ever take my tuner off of the head of my base. Right. Like it stays there. And even if it's not on, I click it between sets, I click it sometimes between songs, I can hear everything in my, in yours and I'm saying something's off. I'm going to make sure that's not me. Sometimes it is me, you know. But we used to play, my husband and I used to play with the an acoustic guitar player and she would regularly say if it was her right where she's like, I'm sorry know, but she, she actually wouldn't apologize. That's what was funny is she would say I tuned because I care.
Speaker 0 02:26 But it's like, wait, but that's the case. Like we're going to be here cause this is more important. If we can be in tune, trust me, you want me to be in tune rather than play in my own little thing off to the side. But you know, it's what you're saying. We can be in tuned to God. I'm not gonna apologize for that. I'm going to take the moment. I'm going to take these moments throughout the day. I'm going to leave the tuner on the head of my guitar. I'm going to say <inaudible> I need a five minute time out. I'm going to go listen to some scripture or read some scripture, pray or realign my spirit with God's spirit so that we can be in tune. Oh. Um, so that we can be in tune and, and we can continue. Yeah. Like that. Right. So, Jason, I'm going to pause this real quick. This is three times and I'm going to go grab my cord, set this out in a minute, but I know, I was like, I don't think it'll be that bad. And then here we are. So just a sec, if you don't mind. I'm gonna plug it in so it doesn't be about me. And so I don't lose you, but we're, we're about out in <inaudible>.
Speaker 1 03:23 That's awesome. And I'll warm up my coffee while you do that. That's good.
Speaker 0 04:01 Yeah. Sorry, I'm back when you are.
Speaker 1 04:11 That's good. I'm like, I think we have 30 seconds and that's what we had.
Speaker 0 04:20 Yeah, sorry. Okay. I saw it beep and I thought, no, I think we can wrap it up. So I was a little bit distracted, but now that we're back here, um, we can, um, we can wrap it up. Um, did you want to talk about the tour?
Speaker 1 04:33 Oh sure. I can mention that. Yeah, I mean it's great what we've talked about, but yeah, I could just mention that briefly.
Speaker 0 04:37 Okay. All right. So as we're about to sign off, Jason, we've talked about the new album. I mean all of the albums really. I want to encourage people to go back and look at all of these albums, not just the new one that's going to be releasing in March. And then you mentioned you were in Houston last summer, so do you guys have plans for another tour coming up?
Speaker 1 04:56 We do, yeah. We're going to be headed out. Um, right now we're planning in may and we're going to do it a little differently than we did last year. We drove, um, we did 6,000 miles in the 15 passenger van, so I was, that's a lot of oil in the dream with the kids. That's awesome. Um, but this year we're going to be just picking certain cities and our States and just flying in and being there for an extended weekend to work better with our life and schedule and kind of look different ways. So, um, so yeah, definitely just go to <inaudible> dot com we'll be announcing the tour and that and we still, um, we're going to take requests from churches. You know, we've got a couple commitments that we've already made, three different areas that we're going to go to already, but we're planning on five or six different areas. And so, um, so that's interesting. I ended, I do hope we had an awesome time in Houston.
Speaker 0 05:49 Yay. I know. I can't believe I missed you guys. I hope you guys make it back and we can make it out this time because that would just be the best. I would love that.
Speaker 1 05:57 Yeah. So if if your church, it might be a good trick for an event, you know, people can just know you can reach out to seeds and we're going to just announce it at the next like two weeks and, and then book things and be out this summer and fall. And so please come and join us. It's great to get the experience. And it's called the, I believe tour with our new album. And, and so we share about Jesus and the young people that are part of our band. My kids and family extended our extended family, but they share their testimonies. So it's really awesome to have young people speaking to kids cause they look up to them so much. Oh yes. It's, it's incredible. Yeah. So I do a lot of the singing, but I have a lot of the speaking is the rest of the team to share their stories and some of their struggles and how God's work in them. So it was really powerful last year and I'm excited that the Lord's opening, the girlfriend's to do it again. So yeah, please come and join us on the I believe tour and just go to seeds, family, worship.com, and you'll get to learn and see all about what we're doing and we have emails that we'll send to you, um, just about our ministry and different things that come out. So we'd love for you to come be a part of seats.
Speaker 0 07:05 Awesome. Thank you so much Jason. I just want to tell our listeners, I was so excited when I actually had seen you had been on family life, um, several times actually, um, a few years ago and I kind of thought, I wonder, I just kinda crossed my fingers and said a prayer and I thought I'm going to just going to reach out and see if I couldn't possibly have Jason on the show because seeds really has been such an impactful, um, ministry for our family. I mean for all of the reasons that we've shared. And so I just also want to just do a shout out and say, you will not be disappointed. This will be something, not only will you not be disappointed, I think it will be something that will add more to your family than you even anticipated. Um, when you just reach out, grab the songs, listen to them with your kids.
Speaker 0 07:52 It, I mean, we have, we don't even have the DVDs with emotions. We kind of make up our own motions sometimes and we have parts where we shout and we have, there are songs that I tear up every time because it's just like you said, it's, it's worship. It's not, um, you know, kind of just, uh, it's, it's, it's, it's worship, it's God's word and get the opportunity to sing God's word back to him. We get the opportunity to sing God's word and let it Edify our own spirits and we get the opportunity to sing God's word and let it encourage others. We didn't even go there, but that's one of the things that Paul talks about, right? Come together, singing songs to each other of encouragement, right? And so that all of those things you get to do with your family when, um, you have the seeds, music in your home or in your car or wherever it is. So I want to encourage you as well, go to seize family, worship.com take advantage of all of the things they have in their shop and everything they have to offer. And yeah, maybe we'll see each other at the tour this summer. That'd be fun. I would love it. Thank you so much, Jason, for coming on. Alexis, thank you so much. Yeah, thank you everybody for listening. God bless you guys.
